SGH Economic Award

SGH recognises leaders who contribute significantly to the development of the national economy and improve the quality of services provided in their sector through their efforts.

The SGH Economic Award is a distinction for an individual who has particularly contributed to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation and thus has contributed to the economic development of Poland. This award is handed by the Rector of SGH during a gala ceremony of the Economic Forum.

The award was established in 2019.

LAUREATES OF THE SGH ECONOMIC AWARD

2024

The SGH Economic Award 2024 was awarded to Professor Henryk Skarżyński. Professor Henryk Skarżyński is a world-renowned otolaryngologist, audiologist, and phoniatrist, founder and director of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing, and the World Hearing Centre in Kajetany. 

2023

The SGH Economic Award 2023 was awarded to Czesław Lang – Olympic vice-champion and two-time medalist in the road world championships, director of the Tour de Pologne, founder and owner of the Lang Team company.

2022

The SGH Economic Award 2022 was awarded to Dr Irena Eris, the founder of Dr Irena Eris brand.

2021

Krzysztof Pawiński – President of the Management Board of Maspex Group. Professor Wachowiak, the Rector of SGH, expressed his congratulations to the laureate on behalf of the Economic Award Committee and the entire academic community of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and wished him a safe and successful worldwide career for the Maspex Group ‘under his leadership.

2020

Zbigniew Jagiełło – President of Bank PKO BP (for strengthening the position of Grupa Kapitałowa PKO [„PKO Capital Group”], which is currently the leader of the financial market in Central and Eastern Europe).

2019

Anna Rulkiewicz – President of the LuxMed Group (for efforts which have brought LUX MED to the leading position in the private medical sector in Poland and have had a significant impact on the development of an important sector of the Polish economy.
